Delta state governor had more votes than accredited voters in the state- INEC says
INEC officials who appeared before the Delta state Election tribunal sitting in Asaba the state capital, yesterday August 26th, told members of the tribunal that after the April 11th governorship elections had been concluded, it was discovered that the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa who was declared winner of the election, had more number of votes than the number of accredited voters during the April 14thgovernorship election.
12 year old girl hangs herself after losing mother to cancer
A 12-year-old schoolgirl whose mother died of breast cancer killed herself after posting self-harm pictures on Instagram, an inquest has heard.
Isabel Ann Richardson, from Norwich, was struggling with feelings she was 'worthless' and 'empty' after losing her mother Karina to the disease in 2010.
But despite speaking to a school nurse at Hewett School, she was overcome by her sadness and on May 12, discovered hanging in her bedroom by her father.

This happened this evening in one of the filling stations along Asaba-Onitsha express way in Asaba. A tanker conductor went to steal diesel from a parked tanker at the filling station last night. He went inside the tanker with his rubber cans but unfortunately did not succeed and he died inside. Tobias Strebel, the 35-year-old who spent more than $100,000 to look like Justin Bieber, has been found dead after he was reported missing on August 18, his manager confirmed on Wednesday.
“I am beyond devastated to hear the news about Tobias. Tobias was a kind, caring, and gentle soul that was dedicated and passionate to his music and career,” Hollywood manager Gina Rodriguez said. “For all the slings and arrows put forth against him, he always held his head high, treated everyone with respect, and had a warmth and glow to him that made anyone around him smile.”
“I was fortunate to have known Tobias and have had the chance to work with him in his entertainment career over the past couple years. My condolences go out to his family, ” Rodriguez continued.
No missing money, NDDC boss tells Buhari; tackles Auditor-General
The Niger Delta Development Commission, NNDC, Managing Director, Mr. Dan Abia, yesterday, met with President Muhammadu Buhari for the first time since issues of funds misappropriation to the tune of N183.7 billion was raised by the Auditor-General of the Federation, Mr. Samuel Ukura, against the commission, stating that the allegation was completely false.
Following an audit report on NDDC from 2008 to 2012, Ukura had said the commission had a case to answer.Briefing journalists after a meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abia said no money was missing and he also dissociated himself from issues of contract splitting.

“With the rate at which our young entertainers are abusing drugs, and alcohol, many of them will be raving mad, in asylums, or rehab in the next 10 years. I have never smoked ,nor drank alcohol in my over thirty years as a musician. There are a number of reggae musicians who do not abuse drugs, nor drink alcohol.”

A court in Saudi Arabia has dropped the charges of manslaughter and sexual assault against the father of Luma, the 5-year-old daughter he had beaten to death in 2011. His sentence was reduced to only the charge of 'excessive disciplining that resulted in death'. According to Saudi Daily Al Sharq, the decision was taken after no trace of semen was found on her body.
Luma’s case became widely known in 2012 when details emerged of how she was tortured by her father during a visit to him and his new wife. Reports said that the father used wires and an iron rod to punish his daughter after he had expressed doubts about her virginity. Luma died after four months in coma and was not buried for another four months pending the investigation and the autopsy procedures.
