Nigerian dad sends his US-born teen sons to Nigeria for a year...to learn gratitude

Their dad is Nigerian, who relocated to the US and married a white American. When his sons turned 14, he decided to send them to Nigeria (where they've never been) to experience the culture and learn gratitude. Quite interesting. Read below..meanwhile, can more parents in the US do this?
A dad wanting his twin teen sons, accustomed to the comforts of the country club, to learn some gratitude took an unusual step. He sent the 14-year-olds to spend the seventh grade in Nigeria.
The boys, Noble and Evan Nwankwo, spent seventh grade at Mea Mater Elizabeth High School in Enugu, southern Nigeria. There, the day starts with 5 a.m. exercise and prayer, and continues with a 12-subject course load. There’s no help from mom on homework or washing clothes, either.

Alleged N17m bribe: ICPC invites Onyeka Onwenu, Internal Auditor
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has invited the Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Ms Onyeka Onwenu, and an internal auditor for interrogation on the alleged N17million bribe-for-contract at the centre.
Prior to the appearance of the songstress today, three key officials of the NCWD were yesterday grilled by the anti-graft agency.
They are Mukhtar Usman, Jauro Jibrin and Sadeeq Umar.
But a Deputy Director in NWCD, who doubles as Personal Assistant to Onwenu, Chika Abazu, has been remanded in prison following the alleged N17million bribery.

The man who would clear NNPC’s mess

The man who would clear NNPC's mess
Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu
The hammer finally came down on the former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha early in the week. In his place, President Muhammadu Buhari announced the appointment of the former Executive Vice Chairman/General Counsel of ExxonMobil (Africa), Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as the new boss of the corporation.
The termination of Dawha’s appointment no doubt marked the end of an era in the all important organisation in whose hands the financial fate of the nation literally lies, but which, unfortunately, has been bedeviled by mega corruption. Only on Tuesday, an international governance watchdog, the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) released a report in which it accused the NNPC of failing to remit $12.3 billion (about N2.46 trillion) into the Federation Account, being proceeds of sales of one of Nigeria’s crude oil grade over the last 10 years.
In the report titled ‘Inside NNPC Oil Sales: A Case for Reform in Nigeria,’ the NRGI said its research found no evidence that NNPC forwarded to the treasury any revenues from sales of Okono crude between 2005 and 2014, totaling more than 100 million barrels with an estimated value of $12.3 billion.
“In other words, the corporation has provided no public accounting of how it used a decade’s worth of revenues from an entire stream of the country’s oil production,” the report stated

Daring media reports of Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II’s demise unnerves Ife traditional royal authority
Why the chiefs won’t pronounce him dead just yet
Contenders to the throne campaign for support
A mortal plague assails the ‘State of the living spring’ – or Osun State, if you like. The golden diadem of her pride emits a cool flow of devouring fire. Osun, clotted with the blaze, seethes from the crown of her head. An unforgivable sacrilege has been committed: His Imperial Majesty Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, the 50th Ooni of Ife, has been declared dead. The royal palace is livid, the people are confused, Ife Kingdom crackles like embers beneath a simmering fire.
The scene prefigures the transition in Greek art from high classicism to Hellenistic style or radical shift from ancient didactic Yoruba folklore to the nuances and wild experimentation of contemporary theatre. Tradition tangled with modernity, is like Laocoon dying with his strangled sons or the ancient Yoruba god, Sango Olukoso, vanishing or transitioning if you like, in his rage at betrayal.

Insurgency: British security experts in Nigeria to train policemen

Insurgency: British security experts in Nigeria to train policemen
Some British security experts have arrived the country to provide expertise training for men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force across the country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on the Special Weapon and Arms Training (SWAT) for the first batch of policemen at the Mobile Police Training College, Ila-Orangun, Osun State, the college’s commandant, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dankwara Mohammed, said the programme was timely, particularly with the Muhammadu Buhari administration renewed effort to put total end to the Boko Haram insurgency and other insecurity challenges facing the nation.
He said the force was collaborating with the foreign security experts under the aegis of IBT Associates Limited, a consultancy firm, which is  in  partnership with Field Security Services.
Mohammed further said the special training programme, which would hold in batches, was designed for  all the men and officers, cutting across the rank and file of the force.
He said the training would comprise a combined unit of counter-terrorism, the close protection unit and the anti-bomb, among others.

$2.1m cash: Ex-NHIS boss surrenders to EFCC
Dr. Olufemi Thomas
A former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Dr. Olufemi Thomas, yesterday surrendered to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for interrogation on the seized $2.1million cash.
The appearance of Thomas foreclosed plans by the EFCC to declare him wanted after a three-week search.
Thomas  denied ownership of the said cash and claimed yesterday that he was never on the run as reported by the media.
The EFCC has continued with its investigation of the matter, even as there were indications, last night that the EFCC might  invite a former Minister of Health for questioning on how NHIS paid N990million for a plot of land estimated at  N350million, while Thomas was in office.

FROM BUS CONDUCTORS TO POLITICAL LEADERS

FROM BUS CONDUCTORS TO POLITICAL LEADERS
LOOKING at a king’s mouth, one would think he never sucked at his mother’s breasts, says an African adage. That seems the case with some occupants of high public offices in the current political dispensation. From total obscurity, they rose to national prominence through determination and a dint of hard work.
From Lagos to Ogun, Ekiti and Benue states, stories abound of individuals who had worked as commercial bus drivers, conductors, motor park touts and other lowly vocations, but are now functioning as governors, commissioners and other high profile portfolios. Numbered among them are Benue State governor, Samuel Ioraer Ortom; Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose; the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and frontline lawyer and commissioner in the recently dissolved cabinet of Governor Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun State, Barrister Segun Odubela.
Samuel Ioraer Ortom
Few individuals’ stories can be as inspiring as that of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State. On Wednesday, 6th July, 2011, he had told the Senate the moving story of his life as he was being screened on the floor of the upper chamber over his nomination as a minister.

Erotic Story: Mother Superior And I (Girl on Girl)

Apinda and Ayanda by Zanele Muholi
My girlfriend is a recalcitrant Catholic (forgive her father for she has sinned, it’s been 10 years since her last confession) and I was born a protestant but have been eternally in love with the Catholic Church.
In my country, people call lesbianism ‘supi’. To the best of my knowledge, supi is not a word derived form any native Ghanaian language. It appears to be a slang word which was coined somewhere along the line. I have not done any specific research on the origins of the word ‘supi’ and so this is mere conjecture; but I would guesstimate that it was coined in the 1900s & probably the latter part of that century rather than the earlier?
Anyway, I was researching online for my PhD thesis proposal when my sweetheart said “You know the origin of the word ‘supi’ don’t you?”.”No” I replied, shaking my head and turning away from my laptop screen to look at her.”Well, supi is short for superior or mother superior”;. “What the fuck?!!!” I said, starting to giggle. “No baby, it’s true”, she explained, “You see, people used to say that the Roman Catholic Sisters were having a lot of lesbian sex in their convents under the guise of celibacy. Rumor had it that the Mother Superiors would turn out the new nuns by inviting them to their offices where they would undress them. Subsequently, the Mother Superior would eat the new nun’s pussy or otherwise fuck her while the new nun whispered softly ‘No, please Mother Superior, stop! This is a sin…” My girlfriend and I burst out laughing. I returned to typing on my laptop, the salacious story forgotten.
A few days later, I was sitting on my bed, my legs spread wide apart while my girlfriend thumbed at my clitoris when I remembered! So I stifled a moan, giggled and said ‘Oh no, Mother Superior! Please don’t do thaaaat!”. I had no idea what I was going in for, lol. By the time I realized, we were in the middle of some really intense, unplanned for role-play starring me as the new nun and she as the mother superior.
“Spread your legs apart and sit up straight!” my girlfriend yelled in her sternest voice as she slowly inserted two fingers into me. I groaned loudly while the moistness between my legs increased rapidly. She wrapped her mouth around my left breast and sucked gently for some minutes while flicking her tongue around my nipple and then she stopped. “I want you to start counting what I’m doing to you”, she said without even the faintest hint of a smile. I closed my eyes and started counting as her finger moved in and out, ‘One, two, three, ah, mmm…” I could not continue as I started gasping. “Mmm, and ah are not numbers, start afresh” she said
“One, two, three, four, f-f-five…” I counted, quivering as pleasure coursed through my body. “You’re such a bad girl”, she said, pulling her fingers out of my cunt. “Look at how soaking wet you are!” I looked at her fingers glistening with my pussy juices, grinned and bit my lips. Then I flipped around and went down on all fours, giving her a view of my ample ass and pussy which by now was literally dripping. She stared at my ass and pussy for a bit, took in her breath and then started fondling my ass. Periodically, she would brush against the entrance of my cunt with her fingertips. Suddenly and without any warning, she rammed two fingers into my pussy and started ‘pumping’ them really hard at which point I started grunting with pleasure and and grabbed the bed post for support.
“Have you been absolved of your sins?” she asked. “Yes please Mother Superior, I have been absolved!” I yelled. She pumped me faster with her fingers and I gasped, ” I have been absolved, M-m-other Superior! I-I- I won’t do them again, mmmm!” “Well”, whispered my girlfriend, nibbling my ear, “I’m still going to have to punish you for the sins you committed”. ‘Thud!’ She began spanking my bottom stopping only to kiss my neck or caress my waist.
And that was how ‘Mother Superior’ and I fucked on the bed, changed positions with me standing: one leg on the floor and one leg on the side of the bed and then ended up with me leaning against the wall, at which point I’d had a million and one orgasms :)

Newborn Girl Rescued From Beijing Public Toilet

Beijing police are searching for the mother of a newborn baby girl who was apparently abandoned in a public toilet on Sunday.
State newspaper People's Daily reports that witnesses called officers to the toilet in the Chinese capital's Xicheng District after they heard crying. Police said the baby was inside the sewer of the squat toilet.
"The baby's head was upside down and the whole body has fallen into the sewer. I could vaguely saw the baby's feet from the side," police officer Qian Feng told the newspaper.
This frame grab of a police video taken on Aug. 2, 2015, shows a policeman holding an abandoned newborn baby in a public toilet in Beijing.

At first police thought they would have to destroy the toilet to reach the baby, but then Qian reached into the sewer and carefully pulled her to safety.
Video stills from the harrowing incident capture the moment when the policeman rescued the girl. Police believe the newborn's mother gave birth in the facility and then abandoned her.
The baby girl was taken to a Beijing hospital but did not appear to be injured.

Buhari orders quick action on new national carrier

Buhari orders quick action on new national carrier

• Orders take over of Nigeria’s airspace from Ghana
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday ordered the Ministry of Aviation to expedite action on the establishment of a new national airline for the country.
The president gave the directive while receiving briefing from officials of the Aviation Ministry, led by the Permanent Secretary, Binta Bello, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Speaking with State House correspondents after the briefing, Bello said  the president was worried about Nigeria not having a national air carrier and has given instruction for a new one to be established.
She also said the president was briefed on the challenges domestic airlines were facing in spite of Federal Government’s N300 billion intervention fund towards boosting their operations.
The airlines, she said, were hugely indebted to regulatory agencies under the Aviation Ministry, including other factors that have left some of the airlines still struggling to maintain optimum operational capabilities.
According to her, the four state-of-the-art terminals being constructed with Chinese Bank loan will be ready by the first quarter of next year.

EFCC identifies owner of $2.1m seized cash
•Ibiteye after his arrest...on July 3 / •The cash said to have been found on Ibiteye
Ex-federal agency chief may be declared wanted
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) yesterday said it had traced about $2.1million (N413million) seized at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos to a former Executive Secretary of a federal parastatal.
The commission said it might be forced to declare the man wanted if he does not show up for questioning.
The agency said all attempts to locate the man in Lagos and Abuja proved futile.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on July 3 arrested a bureau de change operator, Mr. Ibiteye John Bamidele, at MMA Terminal 2 (MMA2) Lagos with the cash.
The Head of Public Affairs, NDLEA, Mitchel Ofoyeju, said Bamidele was arrested by anti-narcotic officials, who suspected that the cash was to be laundered.
The NDLEA handed over the suspect to the EFCC on July 8, following his confession that he was on money laundering errand for the ex-official.
It was, however, learnt that all attempts by the EFCC to interrogate the suspect had failed.
A top source in the agency said: “The EFCC has finalised a plan to declare the former parastatal’s chief wanted, over a $2.1million money laundering case.
“The anti-graft agency has been on his trail for weeks, since a certain Ibiteye John Bamidele named him as the owner of a $2,198,900 haul, recovered from him by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
“Ibiteye was arrested on July 3, 2015 at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos by the NDLEA and handed over to the EFCC on July 8, for further investigation.
“The suspect, upon interrogation, named as the owner of the money, but all efforts to locate him both in Lagos and his known address in Abuja proved futile.”
The Head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said: “We have plans to declare the man  wanted. We urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Commission or the nearest police station.”

2 beheaded, 4 injured in renewed Anambra/Kogi oil wells crisis

Awka—TWO persons were beheaded at Eziagulu Otu, near the embattled Orient Petroleum Resources Ltd in Anambra East Local Government Area yesterday by armed men suspected to be from Ibaji in Kogi State, who allegedly attacked the people in their farms.
Four others, who sustained injuries have been admitted at a private hospital in Onitsha.
The attack came barely 24 hours after members of Board of Directors of Orient Petroleum informed Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, during a visit, that the company had acquired two new wells in Aguleri and would increase its crude oil production to 3,000 barrels per day in September.
Vanguard gathered that the attackers, who were armed to the teeth, took the farmers unawares and as many of them ran into the river, the attackers caught six of them, killing two and injuring four.
As the news of the attack reached the people of Aguleri in the upland, all those whose relations went to farm became worried. Shortly after, the victims were brought him.
At press time, it could not be ascertained if some people in the area were still missing.
SOS
One of the distress messages sent to Vanguard during the attack read: “Information reaching our town indicates that Kogi people are attacking Eziagulu Otu and Enugu Otu in several groups and are about to overrun the area and the oil field facilities there.”
Another message from the President General of Aguleri read: “Eziagulu Otu is currently under siege by our Kogi neighbours.
“I am informed that serious fighting is going on and casualties have been recorded. We are at a disadvantage under their superior fire power. The situation is bad.”
Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hosea Karma, confirmed the incident, saying his men and the Kogi State Police Command had stepped in to stop further clash.

Gov Wike’s Visits To CJN

THE legislature, the executive and the judiciary are the three arms of government and the fulcrum on which democracy functions. Constitutionally and legally, they are supposed to function independently of one another in order to preserve the principle of checks and balances to ensure a healthy democracy. That is why the reported visit by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to the Supreme Court office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Mahmud Mohammed, raised ethical, legal and moral questions. The Governor visited the CJN’s office on July 6, 2015 while the latter was said to be away in Saudi Arabia on the lesser hajj. He repeated the visit two days later while the CJN was in an interview session with shortlisted candidates for the award of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs). Expectedly, the two visits raised several eye brows. A fundamental question to ask is the propriety of the visits at such an inauspicious time when Governor Wike’s victory at the poll is being challenged by five opposition party candidates at the election petition tribunal.

RCCG Convention: Adeboye urges Christians to remain pure as light

AT a very colorful welcome ceremony last night, the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who had resolved to limit his messages during the ongoing 63rd annual convention to a maximum of 25 minutes, urged Christians to strive to remain pure as the light.
Speaking at the first plenary of the convention, Pastor Adeboye said this year’s convention will be different in all ramifications; in signs and wonders, miracles and breakthrough.
Drawing inspiration from Bible book of James 1:17, on a topic titled: “Pure as light,” the general overseer took time to introduce the theme of the convention, All Sufficient God, emphasising the need for people to acknowledge that God is the father of light.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Pastor Enoch Adeboye
According to the man of God, anyone who embrace Him as his/her father and “He is the father of light, it shows that you are light. You must be light if you are a child of God because God is the father of light.
“There are two forces controlling the world and affairs of men: they are forces of darkness and forces of light. Forces of darkness have various names including demons, devils, witches, wizards, herbalists, liars, fraudsters. All those evil names are appellations of forces of darkness,” he stated.
He said the characteristics of darkness include shame—anything that can produce shame, you want to do it in darkness. The bible said human beings love darkness than light because their works are evil, pointing out that the characteristics of darkness include sorrow, defeat, failure, losses, death, destruction amongst others.
“On the other hand, characteristics of light include; glory, joy! You remember how people used to shout when the electricity authority used to be called NEPA, when they take off light, darkness comes and people will shout their disappointment and when the light comes on the people shout for joy.
“Victory comes when there is light, the Bible says they overcame the devil by the word of their testimony. Sucess is one of the characteristics of light, progress, abundant life, breakthrough and so on,” he added, asking the large crowd of worshippers if they prefer light or darkness.
And the crowd responded with a loud shout of “Light!”
The former mathematician explained the meaning of “As Pure As Light”, saying he wrote a book about 30 years ago on this same topic where he explained that every child of God must be pure as light, stressing that whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
“If you want to be a Christian, you must be a Christian thoroughly. You must be a Christian in the same way that Jesus Christ said, ‘the prince of this world came to me and found nothing in me.’ Tonight after the service, you will pray until you are satisfied, at least, for almost one hour.
“God is expecting you to take a decision tonight especially all of you that are Christians that from now, no matter how others lived their Christian lives, I want to be pure as light; no more lying of any type—no black, white or red lies. No matter the situation at all be pure as light. No more stealing of any type, no more doing things in a wrong manner simply because others are doing so because our God says you must not follow multitude to do evil,” he counseled.
The holiness preacher proceeded to give three reasons why Christians must live as pure as light. 1. An opportunity to see God on the last day, (Matthew 5:8).
“Pure not just outside, not just pretending but from the heart because the bible said out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. If the heart is pure, one’s speech and life will be pure. I will not lie, cheat, if I am committed to purity as pure as light, if I tell a lie no matter how small, the spirit of the Almighty God will not allow me to rest,” he stated.
He, therefore, counselled Christians to resolve to be in line with almighty God and make a commitment not to take anything that does not belong to him/her, noting, “there is no need calling yourself a Christain when you are not a son or daughter of the Almighty God.
“Some years ago, when I was a lecturer at the University of Lagos, I wrote a letter and I used the school official envelop for the letter but the spirit of God told me that the envelop did not belong to me and I replied how much is an envelop and God spoke to me and said ‘son, if it was so cheap why can’t you buy your own?’
“No impurity, no lie, no picking what is not mine because I want to see God on the last day,” he stated.
The second reason, he further stated, is that “I want to marry Jesus and Jesus said clearly in Ephesians 5:25-27, that Jesus is going to marry a bride without spot, wrinkle and blemish. As pure as light, no blemish, spot, no wrinkle. No blemish of any type”.
Adeboye noted with regret that there is no diffrennce between those who profess Christinity and those who do not; “some say you can be born again and live any kind of life; well if you decide that you will not see Jesus and also marry him on the last day.”
Reason number three “why I want to be pure as light and want you to join me  in living as pure is because I want to dwell with Jesus Christ in heaven. Isaiah 35:8 tells me that in my husband’s kingdom in heaven, there is no unclean thing of any type will be found or allow there.
“I want to be as pure as light becaue I want to see my God, marry Jesus and dwell with Jesus in heaven. Are you wondering why forces of darkness are still disturbing you, why is it that elements of darkness are always attacking you, it is because they are still seeing some elements of darkness in you that they are attracted to,” Adeboye maintained.
Pastor Adeboye was of the opinion that God wants to put an end to every attack of the devil in our lives. The enemy must be able to come and examine you from top to bottom, look at your stand in the office, home, take a look at your speech and ability and discover he has nothing in you.
He emphasized that God has power not only to wash every individual clean from every sin and give the ability, from now, to live as pure as light.

According to the man of God, anyone who embrace Him as his/her father and “He is the father of light, it shows that you are light. You must be light if you are a child of God because God is the father of light.
