APC deputy gov candidate defects to PDP

The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in Abia State, Prince Eke Idika has defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Eke who declared for PDP Thursday at the Umuahia Township Stadium during the PDP’s women presidential rally attended by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, said the decision was informed by his discovery of late, that the PDP had better agenda for the country.
He said, “I decided to drop the broom because the broom does not sweep well; vacuum cleaner sweeps better. If we need change it must be the right change not just any change.”
The APC candidate who said he returned from the US said he had been impressed by the performances of President Goodluck Jonathan, and expressed confidence that if reelected he would “do more for the country.”
In her remarks at the event, Mrs. Jonathan solicited the support of Abia electorate for her husband saying that he has a better programme for the country.
She said his achievements in the key sectors of the economy so far were a sure proof that if given another opportunity, the Nigerian economy would fare better.
