2015: GEJ Asks Nigerians To Allow Him To Rule

A presidential candidate of the PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan, addressed Nigerians asking to support him during the upcoming general elections as he planned to continue getting Nigeria on its feet.
The President took to his official Facebook page to share his hopes for further support from Nigerians. According to Jonathan, he has only started to develop the country. However, he is ready to continue his programmes and lead Nigerian to its greatness.
Jonathan in a statement named the next successfully achieved goals: making Nigeria the largest producer and exporter of cement in Africa, increasing the capacity of the agricultural and real sectors, and providing more jobs though promoting economic growth.
Read Jonathan’s full statement below:
When this administration came into being on May 29th, 2011, Nigeria was a cement importing nation. However, with a determined implementation of the Backward Integration policy on cement, we are today a net exporter of the product as well as its largest producer on the African continent.
That was only a beginning. We are committed to re-enacting that feat with other products including rice, fertilizer and cassava for which we have since grown to be the world’s largest producer.
Steadily, we are increasing the capacity of the agricultural and real sectors through creative stimulus programmes and thoughtful execution of infrastructure projects that are connecting sources of raw materials to manufacturing zones and then to the markets.
By successfully privatizing our power generation and distribution infrastructure, we have attracted the type of funds and personnel that will raise the capacity of the power sector to power up our industries and mechanized farms.
Under my watch, I assure the local and international business community that the Federal Government places a high premium on promoting economic growth. We will continue to implement policies on as many products as Nigeria has a comparative advantage so that we provide jobs and opportunities for all our peoples. This we will do with the kind support of all Nigerians. GEJ.
It would be recalled that President Jonathan has increased production capacity and quality of cement produced in Nigeria. Reportedly, over $1.2 billion has been saved in foreign exchange demand through sufficiency in domestic cement production.
