Okorocha's Giant Strides In Education

Popularly called ‘Owelle’, Governor Rochas Anayo Okorocha is one Nigerian governor that was very popular even before he assumed the office of the chief executive of Imo state.

Okorocha’s giant strides in the educational sector all over Nigeria are well-documented. Almost 10 years ago, he founded his non-governmental organisation (NGO) named “Rochas Foundation,” to give hope to less privileged children through quality education.
He has not looked back since then. Even as the number one citizen of Imo state, Okorocha has made the education sector his number one priority in the ‘eastern heartland’ as Imo state is fondly called.
Little wonder the state’s secondary school students always top the WAEC results’ charts every year. It is also no coincidence that Okorocha is the president/founderof the Nigeria Red Cross Society.

Governor Okorocha recently shunned the invitation of the Imo state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to participate in a debate organised by the Christian body.
