Plan by government to clampdown on media condmened

Abuja - The Stop Impunity Nigeria (SIN) Campaign has condemned an alleged plan by the federal government to clampdown on the media, Leadership reports.
A statement signed by Edeatan Ojo of Media Rights Agenda (MRA), one of the organisations that make up SIN, revealed that the media organisations reportedly pencilled down for government action, including the arrest of their top management personnel.

The SIN Campaign warned that such a move would put the democratic process and the forthcoming general elections in jeopardy.

The statement revealed that the Campaign was reacting to media reports of a military meeting held in Kaduna on Tuesday where a plan to clampdown on some media organisations perceived to be unfriendly towards the federal government was allegedly hatched.
