Adebayor turned down move to Qatar
Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor must have really wanted to stay in the Premier League. According to the Mirror, the striker turned down 1 million pounds a month to leave White Hart Lane for a club in Qatar.
West Ham were also keen to bring the 30-year-old into the fold during the winter window, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy blocked that potential move because of this season's brewing top-four rivalry between the two teams.
"The transfer window was open for a month and we all knew what was happening. It didn't all happen in 48 hours," said the Togo international of his failure to make a move.
