Bakare blasts CAN, PFN for endorsing Jonathan

2015-02-02 21:25
Lagos - Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly has lambasted the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) for endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan for the February 14 presidential election, reports NewsDay.

He is angry with them for supporting Jonathan at the expense of one of their own, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the running mate to the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Bakare, who is also the Convener of the Save Nigeria Group, in a sermon on Sunday, said he was disappointed that the Christian leaders have decided to support Jonathan at the expense of Osinbanjo.

He noted that some of the Christian leaders were only after their pockets, which was why they have queued behind Jonathan and rejected one of their own.

Leaders of CAN and PFN had met at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and adopted Jonathan as their candidate for the presidential election.
