Nigeria will investigate the reports of rape, child trafficking and abuses reported in refugee camps of citizens running away from Boko Haram insurgency.

National Emergency Management Agency (Nema) has organized a panel to look into the alleged crimes.
NEMA spokesperson told foreign news outlet, BBc that they are planning to visit every camp.
It is said that about 3,2 million Nigerian have left their homes in order to escape the dangerous Boko Haram threat.

A report published by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) had said that hundreds of young girls have been trafficked from internally displaced persons (IDP) camps.
The said that many victims were from unregistered, makeshift camps established when official camps could no longer cope, the report says.

It revealed that one nurse had said that children were brought to her hospital after being raped in the camps.
Also said that some people were being sold as unpaid domestic workers, raped repeatedly, and in some cases burned and wounded with knives.

NEMA have said however that the investigation will be credible, and help break the culture of silence around rape and that it would take two weeks to compile their report.
